2016 ICMEA Gold FuLe Prize

FuLe International Ceramic Museums are located in Fuping Pottery Art Village, the main part of Futo Ceramic Industrial Group (the only group member of the International Academy of Ceramics - IAC - on the mainland of China and the permanent site of International Ceramic Magazine Editors Symposium). The ICMEA Symposium was hosted several times there, as well as the 43rd General Assembly Meeting of IAC.

FLICAM aim to promote the development and exchange of contemporary ceramics of the world. With its covered area of 20000 square meters, it is the first ceramic museum in China with the theme of contemporary ceramics. The museums are composed of the Main Dome Hall, a ceramic documentation centre and branch museums of over ten countries and regions of the world (South America, USA, Eastern-Europe, Canada, Spain, Western-Europe, Australia and New Zealand,…).

The 5th ICMEA Symposium took place both in Fuping, Shaanxi province, and in Beijing, being organized by FuLe International Ceramic Museums and the Tsinghua University. Ana Maria Asan’s ceramic and sound installation There Is No White Noise, Only Colourful Sound was selected for the ICMEA International Emerging Artists Competition and earned the Gold FuLe Prize. The artist was also selected for an art residency in Fuping and her installation entered the FuLe International Ceramic Museums’ collection. On this occasion, she had the opportunity to make for the first time a short presentation in China of her main art project, SONORES.
